DRIEFONTEIN GOLD MINE: UPDATE
Johannesburg, 10 December 2009: Gold Fields Limited (Gold
Fields) (JSE, NYSE, NASDAQ Dubai: GFI) has announced that the
body of the second employee trapped underground at the Driefontein
Gold Mine’s No. 4 Shaft following a seismic event that occurred on
Sunday, 6 December 2009, has been found. The body of the first
employee was recovered on Monday, 7 December 2009.
Gold Fields deeply regrets the accidents and offers condolences to
the families of the deceased.
