From time to time in the second half of September 2005 and the first half of October 2005, William W. McGuire, M.D., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (the "Company"), Stephen J. Hemsley, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company, and other senior members of the Company's management team will be meeting with investors and analysts. Those discussions will focus on the Company's strategy, tactics and future outlook, and will include a reaffirmation of the Company's publicly disclosed 2005 financial expectations and expectation of continued strong performance in 2006.
New developments over the past 60 days enable management to provide further detail regarding its outlook for 2006. The Company now anticipates each of its businesses will increase their relative market share in 2006, with organic growth of at least 1 million people in the membership-based medical businesses in its Health Care Services and Uniprise business segments.
