OVERSEAS REGULATORY ANNOUNCEMENT
Generating Units of Coal-fired and
Wind Power Projects Completed Trial Run
This announcement is issued pursuant to Rules 13.09(1) and (2) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the “Listing Rules”).
Huaneng Power International, Inc. (the “Company”) announced that one 600MW coal-fired generating unit (Unit 2) of Shanxi Huaneng Zuoquan Power Plant (of which the Company owns 80% equity interest) has completed trial run recently. Phase I of Huaneng Jiuquan Wind Power Project (which is located in Gansu Province and wholly owned by the Company) with a total generation capacity of 501.5MW had also completed trial run by the end of 2011.
In aggregate, the above increased the Company’s controlled generation capacity and equity-based generation capacity by 1,101.5MW and 981.5MW, respectively. Accordingly, the Company’s total controlled generation capacity has increased from 57,977MW to 59,078.5MW, and total equity-based generation capacity has increased from 53,185.9MW to 54,167.4MW.
