TASEKO PROVIDES UPDATE ON COPPER MOUNTAIN OFFER

September 22, 2009, Vancouver, BC - Taseko Mines Limited (TSX: TKO; NYSE Amex: TGB) ("Taseko" or the "Company") confirms that it was advised by Copper Mountain counsel that securities regulators had accepted Copper Mountain's position that the brokered financing could proceed without shareholder approval, thereby making any offer from Taseko at the indicated price of $2.20 per share impossible. Accordingly, merger discussions with Copper Mountain have ceased.
