It Turns Out That at MindTrek, Couples on the Brink Are Seeing Results With Psilocybin Therapy

Whether they want to deepen their relationship further or on the precipice of Divorce, the Psilocybin experience can give each of them clarity about moving ahead in the relationship, expand the bond that's been lost, or throw in the towel kindly.

PORTLAND, OR / ACCESSWIRE / August 16, 2024 / When Scott Holden asked Alexis Mollomo to help him start up MindTrek, A Psilocybin service center, they received many queries from people at an impasse in their relationship or one person in a caregiver role and the other in need of help.

It became clear to them that the person concerned for the other, and often the one reaching out to the office, was also the individual who could benefit from this transformative medicine. Within time they realized the way to the greatest efficacy was when a couple embarked on the psychedelic journey together.

The more Scott and Alexis facilitated couples, saw the overwhelming need, witnessed the efficacy, and loved the practice, they had a pull for this to be their focus.

MindTrek's Founder Scott Holden Holden says:

"Like any other therapy modality, each person must be ready to see themselves and how they interact within the relationship. These experiences, with the right intentions and commitment, can transform that relationship allowing them to see the very reasons it started in the first place."

Co-founder Alexis Mollomo added:

"We're seeing strong efficacy with couples. They come in angry, flooded with confusion, some on the brink of divorce. When we speak to them days and weeks later, they've found each other again and are taking accountability for themselves. Men seem to come out of the space more vulnerable and willing to share, something their counterparts have been dying for."

The Couples Experience

When a twosome comes to Mindtrek, they can take the mushrooms together in the living room of the 1920's historical home. Once the medicine starts working they say their goodbyes and are whisked away into separate rooms, each with their own guide. Five hours later as they are traveling out of their journeys they can come back together.

"Integration back into the grind of the real world is a lot easier when your partner understands the psychedelic space. It creates an instant connection and a place for commiseration and openness that is bigger than the petty issues that plagued them," says Alexis.

After the Psilocybin journey, and within a few days, Scott and Alexis will have an integration session with their respective client. Because most of MindTreks' couples are coming in from out of state, this session can be done over zoom. "We never know the end result of a couples session, mostly they find compassion, understanding, and an awareness of the other's place in their world. Sometimes that awareness is that the relationship is over, but now without the bitterness and emotional turmoil. Our aim is to help them see this through," says Scott.
