Axonic hires additional Portfolio Manager for Systematic Strategy
Axonic Capital, New York-based structured credit, commercial real estate and systematic fixed income specialist with $4.6 billion in assets under management, announced the addition of Vlad Kotov as a Portfolio Manager for the Axonic Systematic Arbitrage Strategy. Mr. Kotov will report to Deniz Cicek, Head Portfolio Manager for the Systematic Strategy.
Mr. Kotov has over a decade of experience as a quantitative portfolio manager. Prior to joining Axonic Mr. Kotov was a Macro Portfolio Manager at Balyasny Asset Management, where he managed a portfolio with a focus on quantitative relative value strategies in FX and interest rates volatility.
“We are very pleased to welcome Vlad to the firm,” said Clay DeGiacinto, Chief Investment Officer and Managing Partner of Axonic. “Vlad will be a valuable member of the systematic investment team along with Deniz. We continue to believe the attractive risk/return characteristics of this strategy and historically low correlations to public markets make this increasingly appealing to institutional investors. With the combination of Vlad’s strong skillset and broad experience, he will make an ideal addition to our firm.”
Prior to joining Balyasny Asset Management, Mr. Kotov was an Associate Portfolio Manager for Citadel’s Global Fixed Income Fund and Quantitative Trader at BlueCrest’s Volatility Arbitrage options desk.
Mr. Kotov holds a PhD in Mathematics from Northwestern University.
