20+ year construction industry veteran Rob Cruden takes the helm of the newest office
Dome Construction, one of California’s leading general contractors, has announced the opening of its first office in San Diego to better serve the region’s biotech, healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as commercial interiors. Headquartered in South San Francisco and with offices across the state, Dome Construction is a leading expert in building to the needs of the life science sector and known for its state-of-the-art facilities.
San Diego is a key market for Dome’s expansion because it is home to more than 1,100 life science companies and over 80 research institutes, accounting for 16% of California’s biotech industry. San Diego ranked fifth in lab space in the country and has a top reputation as a biotech hub due to its third-highest biotech venture funding in biopharma and fourth in patents.
The company appointed Rob Cruden to lead the new office. Cruden has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry and deep roots in the San Diego market, along with knowledge, expertise and core values that make him an essential addition to Dome’s San Diego team.
“Rob is playing a crucial role in the development of this important new market,” said President and CEO Rob Lynch. “As a technical builder by nature, he also listens intently and is motivated by delivering valuable and successful projects that work for people who will work in them.”
Dome Construction is dedicated to giving back to the community, embodying a philanthropic culture established over five decades ago. Dome has distributed more than four percent of its profits to local charitable organizations over the last several years.
