Keyfactor Introduces New Workflow Builder and Native EJBCA Integration to Simplify PKI and Certificate Management at Scale

Updates to Keyfactor Command 10 include native EJBCA Integration, new workflow and automation features

Keyfactor, the machine and IoT identity platform for modern enterprises, today announced the launch of Keyfactor Command 10, a platform update with new features to improve the user experience, enhance automation, and provide native integration with Keyfactor EJBCA PKI.

In 2021, Keyfactor merged with PrimeKey to create the industry’s first end-to-end machine identity management platform, with flexible and highly scalable certificate issuance and automated deployment of machine identities across enterprise and IoT use cases. The merger combined the certificate automation capabilities of Keyfactor Command with PrimeKey’s EJBCA Enterprise product, giving customers end-to-end visibility and automation to all private and publicly issued certificates via a single platform.

With the launch of Keyfactor Command 10, customers can plug EJBCA directly into Keyfactor Command and consolidate historically siloed technologies for issuing and managing certificates. This allows users to expedite and simplify deployment of the only PKI platform that runs anywhere and scales on-demand. In addition, Keyfactor Command 10’s new workflow builder makes certificate management tasks like revocation, renewal, and enrollment easier than ever, with policies to ensure that every certificate issued is trusted, approved, and renewed before it expires.

“Keyfactor will always support every CA platform, both public and private, with Keyfactor Command. The release of Keyfactor Command 10 gives our customers even more flexibility to deploy their PKI however and wherever they need to with EJBCA — in the cloud or on-premise, fully managed or self-hosted — and integrate natively with Keyfactor Command for full visibility and control over every certificate issued,” said Ted Shorter, Chief Technology Officer, Keyfactor.

“There's no need for complicated middleware or gateways between the CA and certificate management platform, just a simple API connection. Keyfactor Command 10 is a major step in our continued efforts to reduce complexity and streamline PKI and certificate management for modern enterprises,” continued Shorter.

New features with Keyfactor Command 10 include:

  • Direct integration with EJBCA that eliminates the need for a gateway or middleware, and makes it easy to integrate certificate issuance and lifecycle automation.
  • New visual workflow builder that enables security teams to define standardized workflows and approvals for revocation, renewal, and enrollment.
  • Granular policy controls for certificate issuance and auto-fill capabilities to simplify enrollment for certificate users.
