athenaCollector lauded by midsize and independent practices; athenaIDX praised by large and health system-owned practices
athenahealth, Inc., a leading provider of network-enabled software and services for medical groups and health systems nationwide, today announced its solutions achieved the highest overall performance scores in the 2022 KLAS Midsize/Large Practice Management Report in the midsize practice category for athenaCollector and in the large practice category for athenaIDX. The solutions also performed well among independent and health system-owned practices, KLAS reported.
athenaCollector ranked among the highest-rated experiences for midsize practices, according to KLAS. Midsize practices, which gave the solution a score of 80.6 out of 100, noted that athenahealth’s “robust, cloud-based technology can be updated without disrupting workflows.” Independent practices also responded positively when evaluating athenaCollector, saying it drives “value through outcomes” and provides transparency that “enables them to better understand what is happening in their revenue cycle operations.”
Overall, both midsize and independent customers said athenaCollector is “a quality product with high usability and strong stability that enables them to be efficient in their operations.”
The KLAS report also highlighted athenaIDX, writing that the solution “is highly stable for large practices,” who said recent updates have enhanced the user experience. In addition, large practice respondents, who gave an overall performance score of 92.6 out of 100 to athenaIDX, feel athenahealth “is a proactive, supportive partner that can quickly solve issues.” Similarly, for health system-owned practices athenaIDX delivers consistent customer satisfaction, KLAS reported. In health system-owned practices, which gave the solution a score of 88.9, customer “satisfaction and confidence in the product have significantly increased” in 2022, and the percent of respondents who would buy the solution again rose by 25%, “as it helps them effectively drive tangible results,” according to the report.
Large and health system-owned practices said athenahealth “excels at creating and maintaining strong relationships” and noted its “willingness to adapt to changing needs and quickly assemble needed resources.”
“Our latest look at the long-standing practice management market revealed some interesting insights, including how athenahealth has positioned itself to deliver strong solution options across all sizes of the ambulatory space,” said Aaron Gleave, research director at KLAS and co-author of the report. “Since this report was the first time KLAS separated independent from hospital-owned customer experiences, it also made clear that vendors could maintain a solid practice management offering on either side of that fence.”
Gleave added: “Additionally, we found it compelling to see an acquired product like athenaIDX take a leading position in very large ambulatory organizations, and the data confirmed this product not only continues to receive new investment and updates but is also supported by a vendor that is committed to a high level of partnership and customer success.”
“We are proud to receive this recognition from KLAS and our customers,” said Paul Brient, chief product officer at athenahealth. “At athenahealth, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions to our customers to help them manage their practices, taking work off of their plates so they can focus on what matters most, caring for patients.”
