Kasturi succeeds Amy Weeden, who has served as CEO since 2012. Propeller was founded in 2012 by Amy Weeden and Jeff Foley. During Weeden’s time as CEO, she led the business to annual revenues exceeding $45M, expanded its reach into five markets, and established Propeller as a trusted advisor for several Fortune 500 companies. With the intent to build a people-first culture, Weeden led the firm to earn notable awards, including the Great Place to Work® certification, Most Admired Company by the Portland Business Journal, and Fastest-Growing Private Company by the Portland Business Journal for eight consecutive years.

As part of long-term, strategic succession planning, Weeden will be transitioning into the role of chief strategy officer. In this role, Weeden will focus on the long-term strategy for Propeller, competitive positioning, partnerships, and other key strategic projects. Weeden will continue to remain as co-owner and chair of Propeller’s board.

“Sunil’s growth at the firm has been remarkable, and I’m thrilled to have him step into the CEO role,” said Weeden. “Sunil’s innate ability to establish trust with clients and colleagues and his expertise and strategic vision will help propel our firm forward, helping us deliver greater value to our clients. I have full confidence in Sunil’s ability to build on the momentum we’ve created over the past eleven years.”

Kasturi expressed his excitement about being promoted to the CEO position at Propeller. “I am honored to be named Propeller’s second CEO. I look forward to leading Propeller to growth and greater heights in the future through our continued commitment to client service, expertise, and delivery excellence while building on our inspiring culture of collaboration and high performance.”

Kasturi joined Propeller in 2013 as one of its first consultants. He quickly moved into a director role, managing key client accounts before becoming Portland’s first managing director in 2016. Kasturi helped establish and mature the San Francisco market and office as its managing director before being promoted to chief growth officer (CGO) in 2021. As CGO, Kasturi helped expand and establish the Denver market, kicked off two emerging markets in Dallas and Minneapolis, consolidated cross-firm functions internally, and helped double the size of its practices.

As a growth-focused leader, Kasturi has established himself as an empathetic leader dedicated to developing his team, promoting diversity and inclusion, and fostering trusting relationships with clients and communities. He received the 2020 Great Place to Work® For All Leadership Award, which recognizes leaders who build and champion high-trust cultures.

Kasturi has held high-profile leadership roles for Microsoft, ACME Business Consulting, and Intel, where his IP telephony earned a patent. He holds an MBA from Duke University, a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Iowa, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from India’s Birla Institute of Technology and Science.

Kasturi is expected to drive Propeller forward for another decade of accelerated growth while ensuring its clients continue to receive exceptional services and innovative solutions tailored to their unique needs.
