The latest updates provide actionable data and an overall improved experience for parents, allowing them to not only follow their child’s progress in swim lessons, but also receive tips on how to help them practice skills at home.

With this latest release, the mobile app now provides demonstration videos explaining each skill a child learns at their respective level, accompanied by real-time written feedback from a trained manager. This allows parents to help children continue practicing those skills outside Big Blue’s pools. Swim skills are no longer simply achieved or not; Big Blue students work towards a specific skill and can track their progress percentage towards the perfected skill within the app.

In addition to the demonstration videos, the app now provides SplashZone™ goals, Attendance Tracking and Distance Tracking for each child. SplashZones are milestones Big Blue tracks that represent the distance a child can swim independently and allow parents to see the distance their swimmer is working towards swimming confidently on their own. Big Blue encourages an 85% attendance goal to ensure that each child is progressing in their development; with that in mind, the Attendance Tracker helps parents monitor their child’s progress against their attendance record. Finally, to create additional motivation and excitement for the children, Big Blue introduces the Distance Tracker. This update provides a gamification aspect to the app, which allows a child to see how far they have swum throughout their time at Big Blue, instilling confidence in them and showing how weekly lessons accumulate to great distances.
