TurningPoint Energy Announces Salar Naini as President, Jared Schoch as Chairman

TurningPoint Energy, a leader in community solar development in the United States, today announced that Salar Naini has been appointed as President, and former President Jared Schoch has transitioned to Chairman. Naini will lead the company’s day-to-day business operations into the future of the energy transition, while Schoch will move out of the daily operations and into a board-only role.  Schoch is the founder of TurningPoint Energy and has served as President since the company’s inception 10 years ago. Naini has been with the company since 2016, serving as Executive Vice President of Business Development over the last four years.

“I want to thank Jared for creating the cultural foundation that is TurningPoint Energy, a template that we have been building from for the last eight years,” said Naini. “While Jared not being in the day-to-day operations is certainly bittersweet, I couldn’t be more excited for what is to come as we strategically expand our business to advance the energy transition. We always strive to be the best-in-class developer in the markets where we develop, and that will continue from the perspective of the policy leaders we engage with, the communities we work in, our landowners, and our partners.”

“Salar and I have been guiding TurningPoint Energy arm-in-arm together for several years now and I am excited to finish executing our succession plan for him to finally take over and lead this dynamic business into the future,” said Schoch. “Over the last decade, we have built an incredibly unique solar development company that is completely privately held, one hundred percent independent, and hyper-efficient with an elite, veteran solar industry team that is structured to thrive and outperform. TurningPoint Energy is also a profitable solar development company that takes care of its team members and does business the right way every time, all while developing in harmony with and investing in the communities in which we work.”

Prior to joining the company in 2016, Salar Naini was principal at SolCom Energy, and held origination and finance roles at NRG Energy and SOLON Corporation. He is an active industry advocate and currently sits on the board of the Coalition for Community Solar Access. Over his career, he has held various roles in business development and finance and has successfully developed over 2GW in solar projects, with over 350MW of that being community solar. Naini is a Provost Scholar from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business and holds a Master’s in Finance from Creighton University’s Heider School of Business.
