Stand up an instance of Event Store Cloud in minutes with new automated provisioning, self-service and ease-of-use capabilities, expediting time-to-value
Event Store, the event-native data platform company, today announced extensive enhancements to Event Store Cloud to streamline management, significantly improve ease of use and increase time-to-value. Customers can now stand up an instance of Event Store Cloud in minutes with automated provisioning and easily control spend by resizing clusters dynamically to meet their application needs. With Event Store Cloud, users can feed real-time, business-critical data in fine-grained streams from origination to downstream use cases such as data analytics, microservices and AI applications. Event Store Cloud is ideal for enterprise teams looking to run EventStoreDB in production while reducing the overhead of managing the underlying infrastructure.
“We are extremely pleased with Event Store Cloud. Their fully managed service allows us to streamline our technology stack, ensuring optimal efficiency. Zero downtime is essential for our operations, as it enables uninterrupted business transactions across the system,” said Daniel Cano, Application Transformation Architect at Holcim EMEA Digital Center.
Designed around the fact that businesses are built on event data, new Event Store Cloud features include:
- Self-service capabilities that improve ease of operations, including the ability to resize clusters vertically up and down
- Credit card signup and automated provisioning on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform that reduces provisioning time from days to minutes
- Access to AWS Marketplace, which allows customers to use their AWS credits for Event Store Cloud and take advantage of the AWS cloud platform’s streamlined deployment and centralized management capabilities
- Enhanced security and management capabilities such as multi-factor authentication and a detailed audit log to track all user actions
- Easier networking configuration with access to public internet and AWS private links – coming soon
Event Store Cloud provides fully managed EventStoreDB clusters in the cloud that enable developers to spend less time on cluster management and more time on building exceptional software. In contrast to traditional databases that continually write over events, Event Store Cloud logs every single event in sequence, creating a comprehensive history of the data, giving companies incredibly rich context for their downstream models. Customers can provision EventStoreDB clusters in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform, and connect these services securely to their own cloud resources. Event Store Cloud is fully compatible with the existing EventStoreDB database product, enabling customers to easily adopt the solution.
Kirk Dunn, CEO of Event Store, said, “Event Store is the first event-native data platform that marries databases and streaming, providing the best of both worlds for a wide variety of use cases. This approach captures the full content and context of the data in a guaranteed way, ensuring full fidelity of business-critical data and making it available — by streaming any or all of it — for an enterprise to run their business more effectively than ever before.”
Event Store Cloud Bridges Data Silos to Make Analytics, Microservices and AI Efficient
The data market is comprised of three siloed segments: operational databases, data movement technologies and data analytics solutions. All of the data that feeds the enterprise applications, AI applications, LLMs and analytics models that companies use to drive revenue decisions and competitive advantage originates in the operational database. However, the old way of getting data from the origin database through to the analytics platform is crude, cumbersome and inefficient.
Event Store’s data platform provides a new way, starting with classifying data at origin as business events. It is uniquely designed to improve the data journey from origination to destination — continually capturing all data in guaranteed order and streaming it in real-time for downstream use cases like analytics and AI. It’s purpose-built for the demands of modern application and data architectures, which rely on both legacy monolith and microservices application development environments that require flexibility in how applications are developed, deployed and integrated.
“Data stored and siloed is useless to the business,” Dunn explained. “The ‘real-time enterprise’ can only be achieved if an organization can dynamically access and move its data from the origin point to the applications and downstream systems that the business requires. The uncomfortable truth about databases is the fact that we have a multi-decades-old pattern of storing data in a database, then writing over and thus deleting it, losing all of that context. Historical data creation is storing the ‘what,’ but the real-time enterprise also demands to know the ‘when, how and why’ the data was created. In the cloud era, where data storage is more accessible and significantly more affordable than ever before, this makes no sense. Companies want and need the context that historical, event-driven data provides –– without it they will simply fall behind.”
Today, Event Store also announced the availability of Event Store Cloud on AWS Marketplace and the appointment of industry veterans Kirk Dunn as CEO and David Wang as Vice President of Engineering.
