WYVA is an online, tuition-free school in the Niobrara County School District #1, available to Wyoming K-12 students statewide. Students can learn online through both live and recorded class sessions, taught by state-certified teachers, fitting every learner’s individual needs.

“We combine technology and a fulfilling academic curriculum to create the best learning environment possible for our students,” said WYVA Head of School Dr. Joe Heywood. “We’ve been a trusted alternative to the traditional brick-and-mortar learning model for over 15 years.”

WYVA offers a wide variety of courses in both core and elective subjects. The school also offers the Stride Career Prep program, giving students the chance to take career-focused classes in fields such as arts, AV technology, and Communications, health and human services, information technology, law, public safety, and security, and manufacturing in engineering and technology.

Many students choose to learn in an online program for multiple reasons, from specialized needs to a bullying-free learning environment. At WYVA, students can connect with other online learning students and families, attend lessons from across the state, and pursue extracurricular interests while also taking a flexible load of classes.
