AMCP is a professional organization dedicated to improving patient health by ensuring access to high-quality, cost-effective medications and other therapies. While at Priority Health, Barrington has been serving as president-elect of AMCP since 2023; before that, she served as treasurer and chair of the finance committee. Barrington has also served three terms as president for the AMCP Midwest Affiliate.

“As a longtime member of the AMCP board, I am honored to serve as president to help advance AMCP’s strategic direction,” said Barrington. “I deeply believe in AMCP’s mission to find ways to help patients get the medications they need at a cost they can afford.”

Barrington was sworn in on April 16 during AMCP’s annual meeting in New Orleans.

"Christina has true expertise and a deep understanding of the many issues facing AMCP and the larger health care industry,” said AMCP CEO Susan Cantrell, MHL, RPh, CAE. “She is the right leader at this time to take the baton and serve as AMCP’s president. I look forward to working alongside her to advance our important work.”

At Priority Health, Barrington is responsible for setting strategy for the pharmacy division and plays a key role in forecasting pharmacy trends and implementing innovative programs to manage and promote the strategic vision of Priority Health. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in Missouri and completed her residency in clinical pharmacy practice at University Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Barrington formerly served as a member of the 2016 URAC Measures Advisory and Research Group, as a board member for the Illinois Foundation for Quality Health Care and on the National Diabetes Education Panel.
