TigerConnect Announces Winners of the Third Annual "Nurses at the Heart of Healthcare" Awards

Recognizing outstanding dedication and expertise in nursing excellence

TigerConnect, healthcare's most trusted clinical collaboration platform, is thrilled to unveil the recipients of the third annual "Nurses at the Heart of Healthcare" Awards. This special recognition highlights nurses who have shown exceptional compassion, integrity, and expertise in their roles, truly embodying the essence of nursing excellence.

Now in its third year, this award program underscores TigerConnect's commitment to honoring the invaluable contributions of nurses, especially during the American Nurses Association's National Nurses Month. These remarkable individuals go above and beyond to ensure the well-being of their patients, their families, and the communities they serve.

This year's winners were nominated by nursing leaders who witnessed firsthand the profound dedication and unwavering commitment demonstrated by their peers. Grand prize winner Shannon Stoffel, RN, ONC, CRNI, is a field nurse at Fairview Home Infusion who was nominated for going above and beyond to lead and organize weekly infusions for a family where four of seven children were affected by a rare genetic disease. Stoffel managed the family's schedule, coordinating with physicians and the children's school to ensure the least amount of impact on the children's education and social development.

Several other exceptional nurses were recognized for their dedication and positive impact on patient experience: Jaime Fisher, RN, an emergency room nurse at Keokuk County Health Center; Jessica Vaughan, RN, a patient care manager at Team Health; Sunshine Shahinian, RN, BSN, PHN, CDE, a diabetes educator at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center; and Victoria Barner, RN, an emergency room nurse at University of New Mexico Health.

"Amidst the challenges and strains they encounter daily, these nurses exemplify resilience and dedication," said Ashley Franks, chief nursing informatics officer at TigerConnect. "Their unwavering commitment not only elevates patient care but also serves as a beacon of hope in our healthcare landscape. I hope this award program serves as a meaningful acknowledgment of their contributions."

TigerConnect extends heartfelt congratulations to all the recipients of the "Nurses at the Heart of Healthcare" Awards and underscores the importance of supporting nurses' mental and emotional well-being. In recognition of the prevalent issue of nurse burnout, TigerConnect empowers healthcare organizations with tools aimed at alleviating burnout and promoting holistic nurse care.
