To achieve the awe-inspiring look of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, VIGILANTE 4×4 embarked on a state-of-the-art restoration project that pays homage to the Jeep’s heritage. The Jeep keeps the original design and now adds premium comfort and reliability. The successful Jeep restorations conducted by VIGILANTE have established the company as a pioneer in the classic Jeep restoration field.
To fit the classic Jeep Grand Wagoneer into a HEMI platform, VIGILANTE designed an advanced chassis and reengineered the Jeep on a modern platform. This allows the revved-up Jeep to handle 485 to 1000 horsepower, which the original Jeep chassis could not handle. “The chassis is based on four-link suspension, a Dana 60 rear axle and all around 6-piston BAER brakes and comes powder-coated and reinforced to withstand the immense amount of horsepower and torque produced by the modern HEMI engine.”
VIGILANTE has revisited the classic Jeep to level a modern-day SUV with its braking and overall performance. “The newly installed components bring the best out of the Grand Wagoneer. VIGILANTE offers its customers the choice to select one out of three HEMI engines based on their performance needs.”
VIGILANTE also added EIBACH coil springs with Fox 2.0 dampers to absorb any impact. Four link suspension replaces the standard leaf springs in an old Grand Wagoneer, making the ride more comfortable and powerful than ever. Fitted with brand new BAER 6-piston calipers all-around, the classic Jeep Grand Wagoneer boasts the best braking system. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is also fitted with classic looking yet modern 17×8” wheels to allow for better braking. The larger wheels give the Jeep a modern and robust look that amplifies performance.
Current build time is 26 months as demand for these revisited Jeep Grand Wagoneers has not stopped since the launch of Jeeps new model. Customers also get to choose the model, specifications, and engine they prefer. “The creation of this platform was a real challenge. It was complex and long, but the perseverance paid off.
