Milan’s Prominent Fashion School Opens Its Doors to Budding Fashion Designers

By: Get News
Ferrari Fashion School looks set to pass on the age-old wisdom of Italian fashion designers to a new generation.

Italy conjures up images of grand plazas, magnificent cathedrals, mouthwatering cuisines, and passionate people. It is also the home of one of the biggest fashion capitals in the world. As far as true fashion lovers are concerned, Milan can almost be likened to a holy ground that deserves a yearly pilgrimage, and they aren’t so far from the truth. It is the place that birthed the likes of Missoni, Moschino, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Marta Ferri, Attico, Marco Rambaldi, and other illustrious who-is-who in fashion. Now, through the Ferrari Fashion School, this beloved fashion mecca is opening its doors to anyone who wants to study the craft that placed it on the world’s map.

Ferrari Fashion School is officially announcing recruitment into its three-year fashion design course. The course aims to fully immerse students in the Italian culture, while providing them with the essential knowledge needed to design and create a fashion collection for both clothing and accessories. Students will have a chance to directly learn technical and creative design methodologies at the feet of masters of the craft. They will also be taught centuries-old tips handed down from generations of Italian fashion designers.

Some of the subjects that students will be taught include study of the anatomy, study of the silhouette, history of costume and fashion, fashion sketches, fashion rendering techniques, designing skills/graphic software, graphic illustration/presentation, pattern-making, fashion photography, communication, marketing, image consulting, and lots more.

In addition to teaching students the creative and technical skills common to fashion designers, the training course will coach them on how to conduct themselves in the role of art directors and team leaders. This is done so that students can easily direct and coordinate whatever team they collaborate with in the course of the program, and beyond. At the end of the course, a student should be fully capable of managing the entire production cycle, from the moment of conception to materialization.

Further, graduates of the Ferrari Fashion School must be able to demonstrate managerial skills that enable seamless collaborations with the professional figures they would come in contact with in their careers. They must also know how to develop their projects while respecting deadlines and taking into account the quality and price standards of the company they work for. Besides, they should be able to design collections either independently or with the support of a team.

A certificate from Ferrari Fashion School opens many doors in different fields and industries. To illustrate, a graduate of the course can be a consultant to local and international brands, work in companies that have a sartorial or industrial production, or perform tasks related to trend and trend research. They can also be an art director at major fashion houses and style offices, or create their own brands from inception to the finished product.

This course does not require certifications of any kind for enrollment, making it ideal for beginners or people starting with zero knowledge of fashion. The only thing required, however, is a love for fashion and willingness to learn.

The fashion design course is expected to kick off in October. Interested persons are encouraged to visit the school’s website for directions on how to apply.
