Atlanta, GA - Adrian Jules, an accomplished filmmaker known for his award-winning short films and commercial campaigns, is excited to announce his latest project, The Takeover. This gripping short film delves into the pressing issues of bullying and mental health among high school students, addressing the devastating impact these challenges can have on young lives. The Takeover is now live on Indiegogo, where supporters can contribute to help bring this essential story to screens worldwide.

Written and directed by Jules, The Takeover follows a tense scenario inside a high school classroom, where Billy Hunter, a distraught father, confronts students and staff following the tragic loss of his son, Stephen. Hunter’s son was a victim of relentless bullying, which went largely ignored by the school community, pushing the young man to a breaking point.

Through Billy’s confrontation with the school staff and students, the film sheds light on the often-overlooked consequences of unchecked bullying and the urgent need for mental health awareness in educational environments. “Suicide is the third leading cause of death among high school-aged youths aged 14–18,” Jules notes, referencing a statistic from the National Institute of Mental Health.

The Takeover aims to humanize these statistics, offering viewers an emotional and thought-provoking experience that highlights the importance of support systems, empathy, and proactive measures to combat bullying and mental health challenges.

The film’s narrative is anchored by complex characters, including Principal Kevin Thompson and Hanna Brady, a teacher whose personal struggles intersect with her commitment to her students. The story unfolds with raw emotion, driven by Jules’ meticulous storytelling and cinematic style that brings tension, realism, and humanity to every scene. Jules hopes that The Takeover will serve as a powerful reminder to educators, parents, and students of the need for vigilance and compassion in combating issues that affect young lives.

To ensure The Takeover reaches its full potential, Jules and his team are reaching out to the community for support. Contributions to the Indiegogo campaign will go toward, post-production cost.

Supporters of the campaign can look forward to exclusive rewards, from digital downloads and behind-the-scenes access to special shout-outs and more.

“With The Takeover, we’re not just telling a story; we’re hoping to start a conversation,” says Jules. “I believe this film has the potential to touch lives, create awareness, and inspire change within our schools and communities. But we need your help to bring this vision to life.”
