Tri Pointe Homes Named to Three Great Place to Work® Lists

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev., Oct. 24, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tri Pointe Homes® (NYSE: TPH), one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S., today announced its inclusion by Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine on three Best WorkplacesTM lists, including 2023 Best Workplaces for Women™, 2023 Best Workplaces for MillennialsTM, and 2023 Best Workplaces in Construction™, adding to its growing list of employer excellence awards for the year. Based solely on employee feedback, these three awards follow Tri Pointe Homes’ recognition as one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® 2023 and 2023 PEOPLE® Companies that Care.

“Earning distinguished positions on these lists serves as an honest reflection of the culture our team members have created and which our leadership team fosters at Tri Pointe Homes,” said Tom Mitchell, president and chief operating officer of Tri Pointe Homes. “Every one of our successes relies on the talent, energy, commitment, and ability of our collective team. Our people-first mindset acts as the guiding compass for all we do, and it’s extremely gratifying to know that our team members feel we’re delivering on that promise.”

Tri Pointe’s leadership team operates from the foundational understanding that its people are its greatest asset and most enduring investment. Tri Pointe’s passionate culture, combined with its caring, accessible and transparent leadership and H.E.A.R.T. values system (based on humility, empowerment, authenticity, results and team), fosters organizational continuity across all of Tri Pointe Homes’ operations coast-to-coast. “The cornerstone to a thriving culture is setting clear expectations and empowering our team members to do what they do best every day,” continued Mitchell. “We model a results-oriented mindset and champion shared vision and purpose. For team members seeking opportunity and growth, we also provide tools and resources for them to excel and achieve their professional goals. It’s a win-win for all of us.”

Tri Pointe Homes, which counts nearly 1,400 team members in its employ, takes training and development seriously. The company established its online learning center, Blueprint, through which team members can curate self-paced learning paths via more than 20,000 professional and personal courses on topics such as Business Operations, Collaborative Management, Leadership, Productivity and personal lessons on well-being.

Diverse Demographics Thrive at Tri Pointe Homes

Following the Great Recession, the number of women in construction sharply decreased by nearly 30% to 807,000 in 2010. According to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the number of women employed in the construction industry and homebuilding trades increased to more than 1.28 million in the last few years, recovering jobs lost during the pandemic and reinforcing a diverse and dynamic workforce. Tri Pointe has focused on cultivating a diverse set of team members. As of December 31, 2022, 42.2% of Tri Pointe Homes’ team members were women and 40.3% of team members in management positions were women. To be considered eligible for ranking on the Fortune Best Workplaces for Women™ list, a company must employ at least 50 women, have at least 20% of non-executive managers who are women, and at least one female holding an executive role.

Emphasis on Well-Being, Transparency and Fun Most Noted by Millennials

According to analysis from Great Place To Work®, the organizations named to the Fortune 2023 Best Workplaces for Millennials™ list placed a notable importance on mental health and well-being programs, beneath which resides the number one driver for positive well-being: fun. Across all generations, employees who have fun at work are 190% to 220% more likely to have high well-being levels, resulting in consistent over-performance and extra effort. In the spirit of enhancing the “fun factor,” Tri Pointe Homes sponsors a series of internal programs and campaigns that foster healthy competition and team building outings and events.

In conjunction with understanding that having fun fosters joy, Tri Pointe prioritizes the physical and emotional well-being of its team members through its Pointes of Wellness platform, a program focusing on eight pillars of wellbeing: balance, community, financial, mindfulness, nutrition, physical, purpose, and social. The program is designed to promote healthy habits and help individuals and their families achieve personal wellness goals.

Tri Pointe's significant investment in health and well-being programs spans celebrations for both big and small moments such as birthdays, anniversaries, adoptions, and the birth of children—further fostering a familial environment and team camaraderie. The result is a strong organizational culture within which teams are empowered and enthusiastic about collaboration, management is approachable, and team members at every level are engaged.

Millennial Alexis Carambot, a land entitlement manager at Tri Pointe Homes in North Carolina, shared, “This is the first job I have ever had that truly has balance without the false promise. You will always have that busy week or challenging day, but at the end of the day, you can do what you need for your personal life without feeling guilty.”

Tri Pointe is in the Life Changing Business

The common thread that connects every facet of Tri Pointe Homes’ operation, ranked #5 on the Fortune 2023 Best Workplaces in Construction™ list, is the cemented belief that it exists to change lives. With every new home, development, and community, Tri Pointe impacts the lives of individuals, couples, and families beyond the data metrics. The company’s “Passionate Culture” begins and ends with people: creating a rewarding, empowered environment that inspires team members to embrace the company mission as a calling, not just a profession.

“Being named to these lists proves that the culture we foster and promote at Tri Pointe Homes is among the best compared to other great companies both within and outside of our industry,” said Heather Breidenthal, chief human resources officer of Tri Pointe Homes. “A consistent theme is the value placed on every team member. We believe it is one of the reasons our team members highly rate our performance and how we continue to attract and retain top talent.”

The Best Workplaces in Construction™ list is based on analysis from more than 36,000 employees from Great Place to Work-Certified™ companies in the construction industry. In that survey, 90% of its team members said Tri Pointe Homes is a great place to work, citing the company’s people-first culture, commitment to community, focus on collective innovation, and a broad array of educational and training resources for all as the most rewarding elements of employment at Tri Pointe Homes.

Great Place To Work® lists are informed by the anonymous feedback from employees, and survey responses typically reflect a comprehensive picture and cross-section of workplace culture and overall experience. Tri Pointe Homes, which was also named to the Fortune 2022 Best Workplaces for Women™, Fortune 2022 Best Workplaces in Construction™, and Fortune 2022 Best Workplaces for Millennials™ , has also been a Great Place to Work-Certified™ company since 2021.
