A boisterous highlight of the evening was the announcement of the winners of the annual Birthday Game, revolving around fulfilling that LRH wish for the gift he wanted most of all: EXPANSION in the name of building a better world. Driven by that goal, Missions, Churches, Advanced Organizations and Continental Liaison Offices contend all year for top honors across six continents and dozens of cities, with some tightly contested races coming down to the final days. “The Birthday game symbolizes our dedication to helping society succeed. This win to us means we have played our part this year in helping our continent and we are most proud of that. This inspires us to achieve even more in the New Year,” said Tony Peacock, Deputy Executive Director for the Church of Scientology in Randburg.

The Church of Scientology, perched on the hills of Randburg, opened its doors on December 23, 2017. 7 years later, they claim their well-deserved title of champions of Africa. The 70,000-square-foot facility is hard at work to bring social services to the people residing in the "City of Gold." Found in the pan-African capital of Johannesburg, the intriguing and hidden gem has attracted much attention from anyone seeing the architectural masterpiece.

In celebrating the Founder of Scientology, the well-attended celebration attracted many that have benefitted from L. Ron Hubbard’s humanitarian works such as the “Drug Free World Foundation”, “The Way to Happiness Foundation”, “Study Technology” and the “Volunteer Ministers” to name a few. The event was a heartwarming celebration that was filled with thousands of awards, proclamations, and presentations which marked the 113th anniversary of the birth of the Founder of the world's youngest major religion and the wide-ranging cultural and social betterment movement he inspired.

So, too, came a wave of recognitions, each honoring L. Ron Hubbard’s global humanitarian legacy:

About the company: "Since 1981, we have served a growing congregation in Johannesburg North. Johannesburg holds an exceptional place in Scientology history. For it was in Johannesburg that the Founder of our religion, L. Ron Hubbard, made his home in the early 1960s and worked to bring the spiritual freedom of Scientology to our nation. Above all, it was here he sought to revitalise the indomitable African spirit—a spirit which, once sparked, could burn forth throughout the world and thus realise his prediction and his dream: “From Southern Africa will spring the next great civilisation on this planet.”
