(Matthew Du, NewsUSA Reporter) - A United flight bound for Boston had to make an emergency landing in Denver last Tuesday after portions of the plane's wing broke apart. Passengers reported hearing a buzzing sound in midair and experienced a violent vibration. According to the passengers, the pilot had walked down the cabin and looked out the window to assess the damage. After communicating with people on the ground, the pilot announced their diversion.
The Boeing 757-200 plane landed safely in Denver, with passengers getting on a different flight to Boston. The issue was found to be with the slat of the plane’s wing, a component used for takeoffs and landings. Further investigations will be conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration.
