A native of Lafayette, Dr. Ishee’s journey in medicine began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then attended medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Shreveport, excelling academically and earning multiple scholarship awards each year. His commitment to excellence continued through his General Surgery residency at the same institution, where he gained extensive surgical experience across a variety of specialties, including breast surgeries and other plastic surgery procedures.

During his residency, Dr. Ishee performed thousands of surgical procedures and earned certifications in endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery, as well as the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. His dedication to patient care and surgical precision was recognized with his induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and a Superior Teaching Award.

Throughout his training, Dr. Ishee held numerous leadership positions, including serving as the administrative chief resident. His commitment to continuous education and patient safety is evident in his active membership in professional organizations such as the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Louisiana State Medical Society.
