Adopt-A-Senior: Bringing Joy to Seniors Across the Midwest This Holiday Season

By: PRLog

WICHITA, Kan. - Nov. 18, 2024 - PRLog -- Omega Senior Living and Weigand-Omega are excited to announce the launch of the 7th annual Adopt-A-Senior drive, an initiative powered by the My Neighbor's Keeper Foundation. This heartwarming program focuses on providing holiday cheer to seniors living in the communities managed by both companies, many of whom may not have visitors, family, or friends during the holiday season.

My Neighbor's Keeper was founded in 2015 as a way for associates of Omega Senior Living and Weigand-Omega to serve their local communities in meaningful ways across the nation. The foundation is built on the principle of caring for the needs of others and emphasizes giving back to the communities where employees live and work.

Each Adopt-A-Senior Giving Tree, now on display at the Weigand-Omega corporate office and participating communities, features gift tags representing wishes from senior residents. These wishes are thoughtfully selected with the guidance of Omega Senior Living associates, ensuring every gift brings both joy and comfort. Participants are encouraged to select a tag, purchase the listed item, and return the wrapped gift by December 6th.

In the past six years, this initiative has delivered over 5,700 gifts valued at $70,000 to more than 1,070 seniors. This remarkable impact has been made possible by the dedication of employees, vendors, and community members who believe in giving back and investing in people.

"At Omega Senior Living and Weigand-Omega, our values are grounded in good stewardship and caring for others," said Craig Hanson, CEO of both organizations. "The Adopt-A-Senior program exemplifies the heart of our mission, reminding seniors that they are remembered and cherished."

Make a Difference This Holiday Season

Participation in the Adopt-A-Senior initiative is open to employees, vendors, and community members who want to make a meaningful impact. To get involved, visit the Weigand-Omega corporate office to pick up a gift tag from the tree. Wrapped gifts must be returned with the accompanying tag by December 6th to ensure timely delivery.

Let's come together to bring joy to the seniors in our communities and continue the tradition of caring, compassion, and connection.
