Wisconsin People's Party backs Amazon unionization amid CEO wealth surge

By: PRLog

Dec. 21, 2024 - PRLog -- As Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos's net worth reaches a whopping $234.5 billion according to Forbes Magazine, the Wisconsin People's Party today called for support of Amazon workers' unionization efforts.

Recent investigations have revealed that Amazon warehouse workers, while earning $18 per hour, continue to face workplace conditions that raise serious concerns. Injury rates at Amazon facilities remain nearly double the industry average, while mandatory overtime and aggressive productivity quotas have created an unsustainable work environment for many employees.

"This is nuts," said John Lemberger, The Vice President of the Wisconsin People's Party. "In one hour, Jeff Bezos gets richer than that same worker for working fifty thousand years. It's incomprehensible - we're not talking about earnings anymore. That's like Louie XIV -level piggishness."

The Wisconsin People's Party highlighted Amazon's systematic efforts to prevent worker organizing, including:

- Multi-million dollar investments in anti-union consulting

- Implementation of worker surveillance systems

- Documented cases of retaliatory actions against organizing employees

- Aggressive anti-union messaging campaigns

"Supporting unionization efforts at Amazon is what normal people do," continued Lemberger. "We need to establish safer working conditions and reasonable productivity expectations."

The Wisconsin People's Party is calling for immediate cessation of anti-union activities by Amazon management and recognition of workers' right to organize without retaliation.
