Sabine Schopke Redefines Midlife Coaching to Achieve Financial Freedom AND Authentic Genuine Fulfillment

By the time her twins graduated from high school, Sabine Schopke was ready to explore a new journey—one that many in midlife might not consider. Despite her financial success as a serial entrepreneur, her work had lost its meaning. Adding the newfound “freedom” from her children leaving the nest to the mix, Sabine felt unfulfilled and unhappy, discovering that society’s traditional measures of success—money, status, fame—were no longer satisfying.

Feeling trapped in a relentless pursuit of happiness that led only to burnout, frustration, and disillusionment, Sabine could no longer justify chasing after seven-figure empires. It felt like a betrayal to herself and her clients.

As Sabine turned to personal development, she found much of the content, including that produced by many coaches, was lacking depth and substance. It offered little help. Beneath the surface, the content often plateaued and was filled with clichés, seeming transactional rather than genuinely meaningful or transformational. It felt as though the midlife target market, being the prime spending demographic, had fallen victim to a rather transactional and shallow approach.

To navigate this new chapter of her life, where the old rules no longer applied, she had to create an entirely different rule book. The old resources were no longer effective. She understood that she needed a fresh approach and new tools to find true fulfillment and purpose in this stage of her life.

While most discussions and dialogue about midlife focus on the lighter aspects of life—such as self-love through pampering and finding new hobbies— this chapter required digging deeper, addressing things head-on. Someone had to get to the truth – facing one’s inner struggles, instead of merely adding more layers of distraction.

Realizing that her journey to true fulfillment was impossible in Los Angeles—where she was tempted to mask her frustrations with alcohol, expensive cars, and superficial glamour —Sabine knew she needed a drastic change. She had to peel back those superficial layers to get to the essence to create actionable steps to grow in the direction she intended. Despite her fears, she asked herself, “Why shouldn’t I figure out how to have it all? Why not me?” and moved forward.

She sold everything—her business, house, and most of her possessions—and took a courageous leap. With just three suitcases, she headed to the German Alps to focus on herself. Sabine chose a humble, furnished apartment in an old farmhouse in a remote Alpine town. This isolating, distraction-free environment was perfect for finding clarity and direction, a period she refers to as her “monk life.”

The initial months were extremely challenging, especially for someone who had always struggled with loneliness. Sabine describes this period as dark and painful at times. Family and friends questioned her “irrational choice” to give up a thriving business, a beautiful home, friends, her life partner, and her beloved bodybuilding. She also admits that not a day went by without her questioning her decision.

To many, the detachment from people and things seemed like an act of rebellion and disruption of the status quo. But for Sabine, it was unavoidable if she truly wanted to rediscover herself and find new purpose and meaning. While it required extreme focus and discipline, it was an act of true self-love.

Throughout her life, Sabine had overcome significant challenges: from homelessness to becoming a multi-millionaire, infertility, cancer, bankruptcy, PTSD, and abuse. She even pursued professional bodybuilding in her late 40s, achieving the best shape of her life in her 50s. Grateful for all she has conquered and achieved, Sabine understands that these struggles were gifts that shaped her into the person she is today. However, it was this latest challenge that taught her a profound lesson: true success is not about external achievements but about finding inner peace and fulfillment. This realization only comes when you move beyond the superficial rah-rah and start digging below the surface.

Today, Sabine speaks up and isn’t shy about approaching things differently, no longer prioritizing financial freedom at any cost. While she still helps others achieve financial security and abundance, peace, calm, happiness, fulfillment, and meaning have become central to her coaching style.

Her journey exemplifies the profound impact of personal transformation. Yet this level of insight and understanding remains elusive and not widely promoted. Guiding her clients professionally, emotionally, and spiritually, she now passionately shares this deeper wisdom with others – without them having to take this path – presenting an alternative route to genuine personal growth and fulfillment during midlife.

Because one thing is clear: we can have it all!  We can achieve our financial dreams AND a life of peace, meaning, and fulfillment—if Sabine can learn to think and act differently, so can you.
