Hyundai to develop new pickup truck

The markets extended its gains with the Dow leaping 200 points to 21,904. Nasdaq jumped 87 points to 6,300.


Hyundai announced plans to develop a new pickup truck for the U.S. market and to launch up to four new or updated SUVs. Sales in the U.S. have been falling for the Korean automaker as consumers began purchasing more pickups and SUVs. Hyundai is expected to introduce redesigned versions of its mid-sized Santa Fe Sport SUV next year and launch a new 7-passenger crossover vehicle in 2019.


The Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic, which will launch on September 29, will include a Rewind feature. Players will be able to rewind parts of the game so that they can improve their skills or collect an item that they missed. The retro gaming console will have the capacity to save up to four points when a game is paused.


Kohl's revealed plans to shrink the floor space of nearly half of its stores as it faces ongoing competition from online retailers. The number of products that will be available will also be reduced in order save on expenses. Kohl's sees its physical stores shifting into facilities for customers to pickup items that they have ordered online.


In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of more than 5 to 2 on the NYSE and by nearly 5 to 2 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 surged 25 points to 2,453. Bitcoin soared $103 to $4,130.
