Apple just made the Apple Card available to the public on Tuesday after rolling it out in a limited capacity earlier this month. But if you plan on applying for one, you might want to consider opting out of the arbitration agreement included within the card's terms and conditions.
When you apply for the Apple Card, you'll be presented with a 15-page document that you must agree to before proceeding with the process. That agreement forbids class actions and requires claims to be arbitrated unless you are subject to protections under the Military Lending Act or unless you exercise your right to reject arbitration, the document says.
By agreeing to the terms and conditions, you're giving up the right to litigate claims and initiate or participate in a class action lawsuit. You're also waiving the right to be heard in court or have a jury trial.

All this means you won't be able to sue — either individually or as part of a class action lawsuit — for any Apple Card-related issues without expressly saying you'd like to retain the right to do so.
To process of rejecting arbitration is simple, but your request must be received within 90 days of opening your account. You must contact the company through the Messages app, a phone call, or written latter stating the following:
- Your name
- The email address associated with your account
- The address associated with your account
- A statement saying you are exercising your right to reject this arbitration provision.

- Phone: 877-255-5923. You can also open the Wallet app on your iPhone, choose your Apple Card, press the three dots in the top right corner of the screen, and press "Call."

- Messages: Open the Wallet app on your iPhone, choose your Apple Card, press the three dots in the top right corner of the screen, and press "Message."
If you already have an Apple Card and didn't read through the full terms and conditions before agreeing, you can also access the document from the Wallet app anytime. To do so, launch the app, tap your Apple Card, and press the three dots in the top right corner of the screen. Then, scroll down to the bottom of the page and press "Terms and Conditions."
