Acclaimed Novel Ice Cream in the Cupboard Gets Wide Audiobook Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Great Neck, NY, Apr 12, 2022– Critically acclaimed and widely-loved novel Ice Cream in the Cupboard, by Pat Moffett, has been released as an audiobook, available where all audiobooks are sold.

This follows the success of the film adaption of the book, which has been heralded as a touchstone for those suffering with or caretaking those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. The book follows the story of Pat Moffett, whose wife was diagnosed with Early-Onset Alzheimer’s, and their journey together through the course of the disease.

Both the film and the book have been met with stellar reviews, creating an audience demand for an audiobook version.

“I am really happy about the audiobook release,” said author Pat Moffett. “Audiobooks are accessible to those who may not be able to read a physical book. Busy caregivers are often unable to sit and read at this stage in their lives.”

This new release brings the book to a new audience, and reintroduces the book to those who may be familiar with the story, but haven’t yet had the opportunity to sit down and read it.

Pat Moffett has made it his mission in life to share his story and raise awareness for this disease. He has been an outspoken source for how Alzheimer’s and dementia affect not only those suffering from these diseases but those who take care of them. His voice and presence in the community have been a source of comfort for many.

Pat has been recognized formally by multiple organizations for his work in this space. In November 2021, he was highlighted as the “Spotlight Caregiver Advocate” by the Long Island Alzheimer’s and Dementia Center for his work with his book, as well as the film adaptation of the book. Pat is a past recipient of the Tikkum Olam Award from the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center, and has been recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association as “Humanitarian of the Year.”

Pat produced the film adaptation of Ice Cream in the Cupboard, which stars Dana Ashbrook and Claudia Ferri as Pat and his wife, Carmen. The film was recognized at the 2019 Rhode Island International Film Festival, winning the “Best Feature Film-Audience Award” and the “Best Feature Film-Youth Award.”

The audiobook is narrated by Tom Weitzel and Stefanie Powers and has a listening length of 6 hours and 8 minutes. The audiobook can be purchased for $5.99 on Amazon, as a part of Kindle Unlimited for free, or via Audible for 1 credit.
