Chef Joey Morelli Travels To Mexico Orphanage: New Cooking Video On YouTube

Joey's Food Fight (847-997-0407), a Chicago-based non-profit organization dedicated to teaching cooking skills to orphans worldwide, announces an update to its YouTube comedy food channel.

Children’s educational charity Joey’s Food Fight has added a new video to its YouTube channel chronicling founder Chef Joey Morelli’s latest visit to Casa Hogar Pan de Vida, an orphanage in Querétaro, Mexico. The comedy food channel is focused on building the Joey’s Food Fight brand to support and raise funds for orphanages around the world.

The channel can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/@joeysfoodfight

Chef Joey’s mission is to travel to orphanages worldwide where he will build kitchens and teach the orphans and organizers how to source and cook their own food. The campaign is intended to be both educational and self-sustaining, since teaching the children life skills is more effective and long-lasting than simply giving donations.

The campaign’s progress is documented on the Joey’s Food Fight YouTube channel, which features Chef Joey’s travels to teach at orphanages and experience local culture in Cambodia, Bonaire, Ukraine, Mexico, and other countries. The channel offers lessons on how to cook specific dishes in each local cuisine as well, always with a dash of Chef Joey’s zany humor.

“A goofball with a giant heart and the best chef around with a brilliant and easy sense of humor, Chef Joey brings fun and smiles to the cause of children's hunger while seeking to collaborate with orphanages and like-minded people and organizations locally and internationally,” a spokesperson for the organization said. “We are promoting the brand and channel to grow an enthusiastic audience of support. The channel will be entertaining, funny, and educational as well.”

During Joey’s Food Fight’s latest excursion to Casa Hogar Pan de Vida, Chef Joey taught 50 children and the staff how to create culinary masterpieces with chorizo, chicken, and fresh produce, such as puerco asado, carnitas, and shrimp fajitas. Outside the kitchen, there were learning experiences as well. In his conversations with the children and staff, Chef Joey realized that American news doesn't always accurately portray Mexican culture, often overlooking its positive aspects.

“From Italian-Jewish garlic bread to chorizo and eggs, each meal was a symbol to the power of community and connection,” Chef Morelli said. “Despite the challenges, the smiles on the children's faces made it all worthwhile.”
