Luxury Meets Electrification: The Best SUVs, According to CarBuzz

Electric and hybrid SUVs that tick all the boxes for luxury.

(PRUnderground) September 14th, 2022

Having the best of both worlds is attainable when you’re looking for a luxury SUV with some hybrid assistance under the hood. Whether it’s just a boost from electric motors or a fully electrified powertrain, there are now more SUVs than ever to choose from that meet the needs of those wanting to ditch combustion engines without sacrificing on luxury. Here are some of the best hybrid and electric luxury SUVs, according to CarBuzz.

All-electric opulence

When it comes to the latest eco-conscious propulsion technology, EVs are at the forefront. But can you merge electric power with true luxury? Automakers like Audi, BMW, Volvo, Ford, and even Cadillac have proof that you can, with various products filling the segment for luxury electric SUVs. The Cadillac Lyriq sees the start of a new era for the brand and will be available in both single- and dual-motor configurations. Outputs range from 340 horsepower all the way to 500 hp, and other than its futuristic good looks, it is opulently specified inside the cabin.

The Caddy is stylish and beautifully equipped with seats in the front that are heated, ventilated, and massage-enabled. You also get ample head and legroom, although there are only two rows and five seats, considering the Lyriq is a midsize luxury SUV. For something a little more European, the Audi e-tron range is equally impressive and reasonably priced, despite being filled with standard features and high-end materials that make it eligible to be called a premium vehicle.

Hybrid luxury isn’t any less impressive

For those who don’t want to commit to EVs just yet, luxury hybrid cars are an excellent foot in the door. The list is long among sedans, coupes, and even wagons with hybrid power plants, but buyers who want maximum space, comfort, and practicality will be shopping for crossovers and SUVs instead.

With gas engines supplemented by electric motors, there are some well-respected nameplates in the hybridized SUV range. But it’s not enough to just have the right goods under the sheet metal, because there still needs to be loads of tech and ample creature comforts to tick the ‘luxury’ box. Some of the top models include the likes of the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, the BMW X5 Hybrid, both the NX and RX Hybrids from Lexus, and even Ford’s Explorer Hybrid making it onto our list of the best luxury hybrid SUVs for 2022. All of these models offer plush interiors, high-quality fit and finish, and long specification lists. Naturally, they all look and feel great, too.
